About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide individual coaching appointments and drop-in support to assist students with time management, goal-setting, and academic anxiety.
- Develop individualized coaching plans focusing on achievement benchmarks and accountability.
- Facilitate class visits and workshops on holistic skills such as study strategies, self-organization, and stress management.
- Collaborate with ASC professional staff and campus partners to support specific student populations, including those on academic probation.
- Create supplemental student resources, coaching content, and social media posts.
- Report accurate data for all coaching sessions and service efforts.
Requirements
- Must be a current University of La Verne student.
- Minimum overall GPA of 3.25.
- Effective communication skills to help students construct their own understandings of success.
- Ability to listen to student needs and work cooperatively to set realistic learning goals.
- Strong self-motivation, personal accountability, and dependability.
- Sensitivity to diverse socioeconomic, cultural, and academic backgrounds.
Preferred Qualifications
- Previous academic support or tutoring experience, particularly with students with documented disabilities.
- Demonstrated leadership experience and active campus involvement.
Benefits
- Flexible work hours (approximately 8–10 hours per week).
- Paid Sick Leave (one hour for every 30 hours worked, up to 24 hours per year).

- Competitive hourly rate of $16.90.
