About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide expert asbestos advice and health and safety services to project teams and contractors
- Manage and improve asbestos management processes in alignment with Group requirements and duty of care
- Advise Project Managers, construction site teams, and contractor partners on asbestos risks and safe systems of work
- Maintain and review asbestos-related procedures within the Integrated Management System
- Support the Asbestos Management working group by sharing best practices and lessons learned
- Implement an asbestos audit program through regular inspections of active worksites
- Investigate asbestos-related incidents to establish root causes in conjunction with Health and Safety Advisors
- Provide coaching and training to personnel involved in asbestos projects
Requirements
- HNC/HND in construction or occupational health and safety
- Experience in asbestos management within utilities, construction, or industrial environments
- Strong understanding of asbestos legislation including CAR 2012, HSG264, and HSG247
- Experience with asbestos surveys, air monitoring, and analytical activities
- Knowledge of ISO 45001 and management system requirements
- NEBOSH Construction Certificate
- Minimum Tech membership of IOSH and a valid CSCS card
- Valid driving licence
- Ability to interpret technical data, risk assessments, and method statements
