About the role
Responsibilities
- Provide weekly applied clarinet lessons to undergraduate and graduate students onsite at the Chicago College of Performing Arts.
- Actively engage in student recruitment efforts to grow the clarinet program.
- Support student retention through effective and healthy pedagogy.
- Participate in the adjudication of recitals, woodwind juries, and woodwind auditions.
- Maintain clear and timely communication with students and faculty.
- Submit a studio syllabus each semester documenting all policies, expectations, and grading criteria.
- Ensure timely submission of all grades and attendance records.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree (significant teaching and/or performing experience may be considered in lieu of an earned degree).
- At least 2 years of teaching experience.
- Documented record of consistent professional experience and visibility as a performer and teacher.
- Strong student recruitment skills.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Experience in collegiate-level teaching.
- Excellent interpersonal skills.
