Artist Faculty, Jazz and Contemporary Voice

Responsibilities

• Direct the Vocal Jazz “New Deal” Ensemble, cultivating a rehearsal culture grounded in healthy, student-centered pedagogy
• Provide potential weekly applied Jazz and Contemporary Voice lessons to students in various degree programs
• Support student retention through active mentorship and engagement
• Participate in recruitment activities, including auditions, for applied studio instruction
• Attend program meetings, recital adjudications, and juries
• Maintain professional communication with students, faculty, and staff via university channels
• Complete institutional requirements including syllabus preparation and grade submission

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree (significant teaching or performing experience may be considered in lieu of a degree)
• Minimum of 2 years of relevant experience
• Documented professional performance record and consistent visibility as a performer
• Significant teaching and/or performing experience

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's degree
• Experience in collegiate-level teaching
• Excellent interpersonal skills

• Annual stipend for Vocal Jazz Ensemble Direction ($7,200)
• Competitive hourly rate for Applied Studio Instruction ($80–$90 per studio hour)
