About the role

Responsibilities

  • Support corporate and commercial transactions, including contract negotiations and drafting for equipment, commodities, and services
  • Conduct legal research and prepare memoranda regarding legislation, regulations, and permits governing operations
  • Assist in the preparation for hearings before administrative tribunals such as the Canadian Nuclear Safety Commission
  • Address environmental compliance issues related to nuclear, thermal, and hydroelectric power generation
  • Draft legal documentation including pleadings, affidavits, and factums

Requirements

  • Graduated from a Canadian common law program or otherwise eligible to article with the Law Society of Ontario
  • Strong analytical, research, and problem-solving skills with a keen eye for detail
  • Superior written and verbal communication skills
  • Proficiency with Microsoft Office, Westlaw, and Quicklaw
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced, regulated environment

Preferred Qualifications

  • Demonstrated leadership skills and a track record of academic excellence
  • Experience working in complex or highly regulated corporate environments
