About the role
Responsibilities
- Lead a year-long, 10-credit graduate course focused on teaching Mathematics & Technology in Early Childhood and Childhood education (birth-6th grade).
- Facilitate weekly in-person sessions on campus for 2.5 hours on Tuesday evenings.
- Instruct students on core mathematical concepts, including the science of patterns and number relationships.
- Emphasize constructivist teaching, inquiry-based learning, problem-solving, and mathematical reasoning.
- Guide students in differentiating instruction for diverse learners, including those with special needs and English-language learners.
- Integrate technology as a core support for mathematical understanding and application.
- Provide mentorship through biweekly meetings to support students' semester-long independent conference projects.
Requirements
- Minimum of three years of full-time K-6 teaching experience.
- Authorized to work in the United States (sponsorship is not available).
- Ability to teach in person on the Sarah Lawrence College campus for the duration of the contract (9/8/26–5/4/27).
Preferred Qualifications
- Teacher certification in Early Childhood and/or Childhood Education (birth-6th grade).
