Art Director

Responsibilities

• Commission artwork by sourcing and managing a global network of freelance artists
• Lead visual development for Booster Fun, Universes Beyond, and Secret Lair releases
• Drive collectibility by creating visually striking alternate card treatments
• Contribute bold visual ideas during early concept development and brainstorming
• Review and approve final artwork to ensure quality and production specifications
• Collaborate cross-functionally with designers, producers, and external IP holders
• Translate IPs to authentically integrate Magic and Universes Beyond worlds into collectible formats

Requirements

• 2+ years in commercial art direction, visual development, or a related field
• Strong portfolio demonstrating experience commissioning and directing illustration
• Excellent visual storytelling and curation skills
• Ability to translate audience tastes and cultural trends into visual ideas
• Proficiency in Adobe Photoshop
• Proficiency in Illustrator, InDesign, and Microsoft Office
• Strong communication and organizational skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with fantasy illustration and graphic-forward design
• Ability to work within fast-paced, team-based workflows
