About the role

Responsibilities

  • Supervise and perform armory personnel duties supporting U.S. Navy high-risk training evolutions
  • Supervise and train Armorers, Armorer/EMTs, and AA&E Range Technicians
  • Manage maintenance and logistics for small arms, weapons, weapon mounts, and training simulators
  • Account for ammunition and explosives (AE) including requisition, issue, receipt, and disposition via computer applications
  • Generate technical correspondence such as SOPs, deficiency reports (CODR, PQDR, SDR), and mishap reports
  • Oversee AE qualifications and certification programs
  • Transport weapons and ammunition from storage facilities to live ranges
  • Perform enhanced organizational level maintenance (EOLM) on weapons and training equipment

Requirements

  • Minimum of nine years of related experience
  • Minimum of six years of preventative/corrective weapons maintenance experience
  • Minimum of three years in an ammunition and weapons management environment
  • U.S. Citizenship required
  • Must satisfy Lautenberg Amendment requirements
  • Valid driver's license (ability to obtain Class B or C CDL with HAZMAT endorsement preferred)
  • Ability to pass mandatory medical, psychological, and drug screenings
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office and basic computer operations

Preferred Qualifications

  • Completion of U.S. military armorer courses (CENSESECFOR, NSW, or NECC EOLM)
  • U.S. Navy certifications: AMMO 49, AMMO 51, AMMO Technical Specialist, or AMMO Administration
  • Experience with TAMIS and MPPEH
  • Familiarity with Fire Arms Training Systems (FATS) simulators
  • In-depth knowledge of night vision, lasers, and weapon sight technologies
