Armed Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Control facility access by monitoring surveillance equipment, inspecting vehicles, and verifying personnel identification.
• Respond to base situations using appropriate escalation of force levels in accordance with established Use of Force Policy.
• Manage emergency responses including fire, medical emergencies, bomb threats, hazardous materials, and inclement weather.
• Observe and report incidents or suspicious activities to ensure base security.
• Maintain proficiency and safety in the use of all assigned equipment, control devices, and weapon systems.
• Complete 40 hours of mandatory In-Service Training annually.

Requirements

• Active or current Secret Security Clearance.
• College certificate, or 2-4 years of related experience/training.
• Minimum of 2 years of experience in Law Enforcement, Corrections, Security, or the US Armed Forces.
• NC PPSB Certifications for Glock 17, Remington 870, and M-4 Carbine.
• Valid First Aid and CPR training.
• Completion of FEMA Courses 100, 200, 700, and 800.
• Ability to pass an annual physical fitness evaluation (mile run, push-ups, and sit-ups) and a Fit for Duty exam.
