Armed Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality armed security services to protect people and property at a high-profile Federal Building
• Conduct armed patrols of the facility on foot or in a vehicle
• Manage access control, monitor CCTV systems, and respond to alarms
• Handle security issues and emergency situations according to established protocols
• Report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing
• Greet and assist visitors and employees while maintaining a professional demeanor
• Follow all site-specific directives, manuals, and post orders

Requirements

• High school diploma or equivalent
• Minimum of 21 years of age
• Valid NYS armed guard license and valid NY concealed carry permit
• Minimum of 2 years of armed security, US military service, or 1 year of full-time armed civilian law enforcement experience
• Current driver’s license (if operating company or customer vehicles)
• Ability to obtain or possess: CPR/AED and First Aid certification, Federal/State firearms qualifications, NWDTP certification, and OC, Baton, and handcuffing certifications
• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Demonstrated ability in defensive and de-escalation tactics

Preferred Qualifications

• DHS Homeland Security Federal Protective Service Clearance
• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
• Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field
