Armed Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Provide high-quality armed protective services to protect people and property at a high-profile Federal Building
• Conduct armed patrols of the facility on foot or in a vehicle
• Manage access control, monitor CCTV systems, and respond to alarms
• Report safety concerns, security breaches, and unusual circumstances both verbally and in writing
• Handle security issues and emergency situations according to established protocols
• Greet and assist visitors and employees while maintaining a professional demeanor
• Follow all site-specific directives, including manuals and post orders

Requirements

• Minimum of 21 years of age
• High school diploma or equivalent
• At least 2 years of experience in armed security, US military service, or 1 year of full-time armed civilian law enforcement
• Valid driver's license (if operating company or customer vehicles)
• Proficiency in English (speaking, reading, and writing)
• Ability to obtain or possess the following certifications:
• Basic Life Support CPR/AED and First Aid
• Federal and state firearms qualifications
• National Weapons Detection Training Program (NWDTP) certification
• OC, Baton, and handcuffing certification
• Defensive and de-escalation tactics certification

Preferred Qualifications

• DHS Homeland Security Federal Protective Service Clearance
• Associate’s degree or higher in Criminal Justice, Security Management, or a related field
• Ability to speak, read, and write in multiple languages (e.g., Spanish, Portuguese, French, Arabic)
