Armed Level I Security Officer

Responsibilities

• Maintain the safety and security of staff, patients, and the general public
• Manage volatile behavioral health situations and patients presenting high-risk characteristics
• Enforce facility rules and regulations through regular premises patrolling
• Secure individuals and manage high-difficulty security tasks
• Complete incident, accident, and investigative reports using computer and writing skills
• Exercise physical and emotional restraint under stressful conditions while working independently

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• 1+ year of related experience in public safety (Law Enforcement, Corrections, Fire, EMS), Healthcare Security, Military, or Private Business Security
• Valid driver's license and ability to be insurable by the TMC vehicle insurance carrier
• Ability to communicate with the public and patients in a tactful, intelligent, and authoritative manner
• Ability to read, write, and comprehend the English language

Preferred Qualifications

• Completion of IAHSS Basic training
• Completion of Safe Crisis Intervention for Patients and Professionals (SCIPP)
• Training in Conducted Energy Weapon (CEW) and body camera use
• Current Healthcare Provider CPR/BLS certification
