Area Superintendent/Maintenance Head

Responsibilities

• Manage and lead overall department functions, including the welding & fabrication shop, scaffolding & insulation workshop, and heavy lift & rigging division.
• Prepare, optimize, and track PM schedules for equipment to minimize breakdowns and ensure operational availability.
• Oversee planned and unplanned equipment repairs and manage resources/machinery for both routine and emergency situations.
• Review work plans, job request priorities, and Method of Statement (MOS) to allocate resources and resolve operational gaps.
• Coordinate with internal departments, external workshops, and OEM dealers for repairs and parts procurement.
• Ensure all equipment and workshop facilities meet HSE standards through regular safety audits and corrective actions.
• Manage and review daily, weekly, and monthly maintenance performance reports, KPIs, and timesheets.
• Respond promptly to emergencies and ensure the reporting of any incidents, accidents, or violations.

Requirements

• Bachelor’s degree in Engineering or a related field.
• 12+ years of experience in a refinery plant environment.
• Proven experience as a maintenance engineer within a refining environment.
• Deep knowledge of refinery equipment and maintenance contracts.
• Strong understanding of industrial safety rules and HSE standards.
• Demonstrated ability to lead and resolve problems within large, multi-cultural organizations.
• Strong communication, organizational, and decision-making skills under pressure.
