Area Manager, Sanitation

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise employees involved in inspection and sanitation procedures
• Plan and assign work for reporting associates and leads
• Develop and adapt inspection equipment to meet sanitation control standards
• Compile and maintain inspection reports and records
• Investigate causes of faulty work and advise on corrective measures
• Provide employees with necessary tools, training, and corrective direction
• Interact with production and quality teams to ensure food safety
• Manage personnel matters including hiring, promotions, and wage adjustments
• Report food safety and quality problems to authorized personnel

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
• High school diploma or GED required
• Intermediate computer skills including Microsoft Office and Google Workspace
• Ability to manage large groups and drive process improvement
• Strong problem-solving and communication skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of sanitation experience in a food manufacturing environment
• Previous experience as a sanitation supervisor
• 4-year degree or equivalent work experience
• Food safety certifications such as SQF, BRC, or HACCP
