Area Manager, Sanitation

Responsibilities

• Direct and supervise employees involved in plant inspection and sanitation procedures
• Plan and assign work to reporting associates and leads to ensure maximum productivity
• Develop or adapt inspection equipment to meet sanitation control standards and maintain product safety
• Compile and maintain accurate inspection reports and records
• Investigate the cause of faulty work and advise other departments on corrective measures
• Provide employees with necessary tools, proper training, and corrective direction
• Interact with production and quality teams to ensure food safety of products and the plant
• Manage personnel matters including hiring recommendations, performance reviews, and maintaining team morale
• Report food safety and quality problems to authorized personnel to initiate immediate action

Requirements

• Minimum of 1 year of supervisory experience
• High School diploma or GED required
• Intermediate computer skills, including data analysis/creation and proficiency in Microsoft Office or Google Workspace equivalent
• Ability to work the specified shift: Thursday to Sunday, 7:30pm to 6:30am

Preferred Qualifications

• Minimum of 3 years of experience in sanitation within a food manufacturing environment
• Previous experience as a sanitation supervisor
• 4-year degree or equivalent work-related experience
• Food safety certifications such as SQF, BRC, or HACCP
