Area Manager Maintenance

Responsibilities

• Lead a large group of skilled trades maintenance group leaders and team members, focusing on safety, quality, and operational excellence.
• Set strategy, implement solutions to technical problems, and establish schedule and quality requirements.
• Manage budgets, forecasts, and the effective use of personnel, material, and equipment within the assigned area.
• Comply with local and national labor agreements, including UAW regulations.
• Drive change management and implement divisional/corporate policies and safety practices.
• Recruit, train, develop, and evaluate employees to build an optimal team of talent.
• Manage multiple complex projects with high levels of autonomy and accountability for results.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree in Engineering or equivalent professional experience.
• 7 years of experience in a manufacturing environment, including experience with skilled trades.
• 5 years of experience in a people leader role.
• Experience working within unionized environments (e.g., UAW).
• Ability to work rotating shifts, overtime, weekends, and holidays as needed.

Preferred Qualifications

• Master's Degree in Engineering.
• 10+ years of experience in a manufacturing environment.
• Knowledge of Global Manufacturing System (GMS) principles.
• Expertise in Workplace Safety Systems and Continuous Improvement processes.
• Strong technical problem-solving skills.
