Area Manager

Responsibilities

• Drive multi-store operations including sales, profitability, inventory, and expense management
• Recruit, train, mentor, and evaluate store managers to build talent pipelines
• Develop and implement strategic plans to achieve sales targets and P&L goals
• Conduct regular store visits to assess operational efficiency, cleanliness, and compliance
• Analyze financial reports, manage budgets, and maximize revenue streams
• Act as a liaison between store teams and corporate headquarters
• Resolve escalated customer concerns and maintain safety standards
• Implement and execute company operational changes across multiple locations

Requirements

• 4+ years of retail management experience, preferably in lumber, building materials, or home center environments
• Proven experience leading and supervising diverse teams across multiple locations
• Strong understanding of P&L metrics and KPI execution
• Proficiency with electronic technology and ability to learn new systems
• Operational expertise in inventory control
• Ability to travel frequently to store locations (often 75%+ of the time) including overnight stays
• Ability to work 45+ hours per week
• Ability to lift up to 50+ pounds and tolerate exposure to external temperatures
