About the role

Responsibilities

  • Create an inclusive residential environment that fosters academic success and respect for diverse cultures.
  • Support student success by assisting individuals experiencing personal or academic difficulties through consultation and referrals.
  • Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate Resident Assistant staff.
  • Participate in a 24-hour duty rotation, including weekends and holidays, to respond to emergencies and student disputes.
  • Maintain building integrity by managing key tracking, reporting building conditions, and performing regular rounds.
  • Manage programming and building budgets in a fiscally responsible manner.
  • Serve as a hearing officer for student conduct processes and mediate conflicts to encourage healthy behavior change.
  • Advise Residence Hall Associations or hall councils on programming and initiatives.

Requirements

  • Bachelor's degree.
  • Minimum of one year of experience working with college students in a residential setting.
  • Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to relate to students and parents from diverse backgrounds.
  • Ability to remain calm and act decisively in crisis situations.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Master's degree.
  • Experience in facility management or supervising staff.
  • Experience developing student programming and collaborating with professional staff.
  • Fluency in the Spanish language.
