About the role
Responsibilities
- Create an inclusive residential environment that fosters academic success and respect for diverse cultures.
- Support student success by assisting individuals experiencing personal or academic difficulties through consultation and referrals.
- Supervise, train, schedule, and evaluate Resident Assistant staff.
- Participate in a 24-hour duty rotation, including weekends and holidays, to respond to emergencies and student disputes.
- Maintain building integrity by managing key tracking, reporting building conditions, and performing regular rounds.
- Manage programming and building budgets in a fiscally responsible manner.
- Serve as a hearing officer for student conduct processes and mediate conflicts to encourage healthy behavior change.
- Advise Residence Hall Associations or hall councils on programming and initiatives.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree.
- Minimum of one year of experience working with college students in a residential setting.
- Valid driver's license and an acceptable driving record.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong interpersonal communication skills and the ability to relate to students and parents from diverse backgrounds.
- Ability to remain calm and act decisively in crisis situations.
Preferred Qualifications
- Master's degree.
- Experience in facility management or supervising staff.
- Experience developing student programming and collaborating with professional staff.
- Fluency in the Spanish language.
