Architectural Specification Writer

Responsibilities

• Develop technical specifications and accurately prepare project manuals
• Assist with product selections and research materials/manufacturers
• Coordinate with team consultants to edit sections and omit duplications
• Develop and update in-house masters using ARCOM/AVITRU
• Read and interpret drawings, plans, elevations, and details
• Accompany Project Managers in client meetings and coordination efforts
• Mentor junior specifiers across multiple offices

Requirements

• Minimum of six years Architectural or Commercial Interiors experience
• Minimum of three years experience in writing, editing, and developing specifications
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (advanced Word) and MS Outlook
• Proficiency in Bluebeam Revu and Adobe Acrobat
• Ability to travel outside the local area as required
• Valid driver's license with a good driving record

Preferred Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Architecture, Interior Architecture, or Construction Management
• Licensure as an Architect or Engineer
• Professional certifications such as CDT, CCS, CCCA, or LEED AP
• Membership in the Construction Specifications Institute (CSI)
