Architectural Engineer

Responsibilities

• Lead advanced system integration and engineering definition for new GM Defense vehicle platforms and government programs
• Perform technology selection and supplier partnering for advanced systems
• Translate government vehicle requirements into actionable system solutions
• Define architecture to support GM Defense applications and work with design teams to package components
• Develop vehicle strategies using both commercial-off-the-shelf and newly created system components
• Support early advanced system architecture development and integration
• Adhere to all ITAR (International Traffic in Arms Regulations) requirements

Requirements

• BS in Engineering or Computer Science
• 5+ years of engineering experience
• Experience as an Advanced/Execution DRE, VSE, or in Architecture roles
• U.S. Person status required (U.S. citizen, permanent resident, asylee, or refugee)
• Domain-specific experience in one or more of the following: Body, Interior, Chassis, Electrical, Thermal, Survivability, or Propulsion/Electrification
• Strong analytical ability and experience dealing with ambiguity in complex problem-solving
• Thorough understanding of manufacturing processes and engineering best practices

Preferred Qualifications

• MS in Engineering or an equivalent advanced degree
• DFSS Black Belt certification
• Experience in the Defense Industry
• Previous vehicle launch experience
• Specialized expertise in Thermal, Survivability, or Hybrid/Electrification propulsion systems
