Architect - Data Engineering

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver innovative modern data platforms and solutions using AWS, Azure, or GCP.
• Facilitate design sessions with client technical teams to drive strategy, architecture, and implementation.
• Understand client technical challenges and define future-state architecture.
• Break down complex development tasks and ensure timely, quality completion of development items.
• Communicate the pros and cons of solution designs to drive consensus between Slalom and client teams.
• Participate in pre-sales activities, including defining technical approaches and project estimation.

Requirements

• Broad experience in architecture design and deep expertise in data engineering technologies.
• Hands-on experience with Big Data Platforms (e.g., Apache Spark, Presto, Amazon EMR).
• Proficiency with Cloud Data Warehouses (e.g., Amazon Redshift, Snowflake, Google BigQuery).
• Strong Object Oriented Coding skills in Java or Python.
• Experience with NoSQL Databases (e.g., DynamoDB, Cosmos DB, MongoDB).
• Knowledge of Container Management Systems (e.g., Kubernetes, Amazon ECS).
• Experience with Streaming Data Ingestion and Analytics (e.g., Amazon Kinesis, Apache Kafka).
• Familiarity with Modern Data Workflows (e.g., Apache Airflow, dbt, Dagster).
