Archaeology Field Technician

Responsibilities

• Participate in Class I-Class III archaeological assessments and avoidance recommendations
• Conduct heritage and cultural resource investigations to ensure compliance with NEPA, NHPA, NAGPRA, and other regulations
• Perform field tasks including testing, data recovery, monitoring, and pedestrian surveys
• Collect and prepare digital data for reporting findings, including contributing to state IMACS forms
• Travel to project sites in Arizona, New Mexico, and adjacent states for 10-day rotations

Requirements

• BA/BS degree in Archaeology, Anthropology, History, or a related field
• 0-1 years of professional experience in archaeological research or preservation
• Working knowledge of NHPA, ARPA, NAGPRA, and relevant state cultural resource laws
• Ability to carry up to 25 lbs of personal gear and company equipment
• Willingness to work in hot, dry, high-desert conditions and travel to remote locations
• Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with proficiency in Microsoft Office and SharePoint
• Ability to pass a background check and motor vehicle screening

Preferred Qualifications

• Previous professional work experience in the Western United States
• Experience with large-scale terrestrial survey projects
• Specific fieldwork experience in the Great Basin or Southwestern regions
