Archaeology Field Technician

Responsibilities

• Perform Stage 2-4 archaeological fieldwork, including test pits and pedestrian surveys
• Conduct archaeological site excavations and artifact collection
• Assist with site documentation under the direction of licensed archaeologists
• Comply with occupational health and safety policies and Stantec’s HSSE program
• Work with Indigenous communities to maintain relationships of mutual trust and respect

Requirements

• Proven experience with physically demanding outdoor labor and strenuous fieldwork
• Ability to travel within Ontario and work out-of-town with overnight stays
• Ability to work in varied weather conditions and exposure to the elements
• Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently
• Willingness to learn new skills

Preferred Qualifications

• Current undergraduate or graduate student in anthropology or archaeology
• Full G driver’s license in good standing

Benefits

• Competitive hourly wages ranging from $24.12 to $29.71 per hour, depending on experience
