About the role

Responsibilities

  • Independently manage and conduct archaeological resources assessments
  • Lead archaeological resources surveys and portions of multi-disciplinary projects
  • Manage archival research, resource documentation, and impacts analysis meeting NEPA/SEPA, Section 106, and Executive Order 21-02 requirements
  • Serve as primary author of archaeological resource assessment reports
  • Supervise small project teams and lead client meetings
  • Prepare draft scopes of work and budgets for small and mid-size projects
  • Collaborate with architectural historians, paleontologists, and other specialists

Requirements

  • 3+ years of experience in cultural resources surveys, testing, and data recovery
  • Graduate degree in archaeology, geoarchaeology, or a closely related field
  • SOI (Secretary of the Interior) qualifications
  • Experience with WISAARD and OARRA records searches
  • Proficiency in managing archaeological and tribal resources within regulatory frameworks
  • Ability to perform physical fieldwork, including walking long distances and lifting 40 pounds
  • Valid driver’s license and experience driving 4WD vehicles off-road
  • Ability to work in various weather conditions and terrains

Preferred Qualifications

  • GIS experience
  • Knowledge and skillset to mentor junior staff members
