AR Cash Applications Specialist

Responsibilities

• Apply customer payments daily (ACH, wire, credit card, lockbox, checks) to the appropriate invoices in the ERP system
• Download and reconcile bank activity to daily cash receipts
• Research and resolve unapplied cash, short pays, overpays, and duplicate payments
• Process and reconcile lockbox files, EDI remittances, and customer portals
• Maintain accurate records of cash application and ensure proper audit trails
• Support AR aging accuracy by clearing misapplied payments
• Prepare and post approved adjustments such as write-offs and discounts
• Assist with month-end close activities including cash reconciliation and reporting
• Respond to internal and external inquiries regarding payment status and account balances
• Utilize Microsoft Excel to analyze and manage large data sets using VLOOKUP/XLOOKUP and pivot tables

Requirements

• 2+ years of experience in cash application, accounts receivable, or high-volume payment processing
• Strong understanding of payment posting, reconciliation, and handling unapplied cash
• Experience working in ERP/accounting systems (e.g., SAP, Oracle, NetSuite, Microsoft Dynamics)
• Advanced Microsoft Excel skills including lookups and pivot tables
• High attention to detail and strong analytical skills

• Associate’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or Business
