AR Analyst - Credit & Deductions

Responsibilities

• Review and analyze customer deductions, including pricing discrepancies, short payments, returns, and freight claims.
• Collaborate with Sales, Customer Service, and Operations departments to investigate and resolve disputed deductions.
• Initiate credit memos or repayment requests based on deduction outcomes and company policies.
• Monitor customer account balances and ensure timely resolution of open deductions and chargebacks.
• Assess customer creditworthiness and recommend credit limit adjustments.
• Support the cash application team with accurate deduction coding and remittance advice reconciliation.
• Prepare weekly or monthly deduction and credit aging reports and KPIs for management.
• Identify trends in deductions to contribute to continuous improvement of billing and claims processes.

Requirements

• 0-3+ years of experience in accounts receivable, credit, or deduction management.
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
• Proficiency in ERP systems (e.g., Great Plains, Oracle, NetSuite) and advanced Excel skills.
• Strong analytical skills with high attention to detail and an investigative mindset.
• Effective communication and conflict resolution skills.
• Ability to work independently and cross-functionally in a fast-paced environment.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in high-volume AR or shared services environments.
• Knowledge of trade promotion, EDI, and retailer deduction practices (e.g., Walmart, Amazon).
• Familiarity with root cause analysis and continuous process improvement methodologies.
• Experience with Great Plains software.
