AR Analyst - Collections & Cash Application

Responsibilities

• Manage a large portfolio of high-dollar customer accounts, prioritizing collection efforts through aging analysis and risk tiering
• Proactively contact retail and distributor accounts via phone and email to secure payment commitments and resolve past-due balances
• Post daily cash receipts accurately, including checks, ACH, wire transfers, and retailer portal payments
• Research and resolve unapplied cash, short payments, and payment discrepancies
• Investigate, validate, and resolve chargebacks and trade deductions in collaboration with Sales and Trade Finance teams
• Submit and track disputes through customer portals such as Walmart Retail Link and Amazon Vendor Central
• Monitor and reduce Days Sales Outstanding (DSO) through consistent follow-through

Requirements

• 0–5 years of relevant accounts receivable, collections, or cash application experience
• Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or a related field
• Advanced proficiency in Microsoft Excel, including pivot tables and VLOOKUPs
• Experience with ERP/accounting systems (Microsoft Dynamics GP or SAP preferred)
• Exceptional written and verbal communication skills for managing high-stakes conversations with major accounts
• Strong organizational skills and the ability to manage large portfolios independently

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with cash application, payment posting, and unapplied cash resolution
• Familiarity with customer deduction portals (e.g., Walmart Retail Link, Amazon Vendor Central)
• CPG, beverage, or retail/distributor channel experience
• Knowledge of EDI transaction sets and trade promotion deduction practices
