About the role
Responsibilities
- Supervise lifeguarding, aquatic, and recreation activities at various facilities to ensure water safety and prevent accidents
- Perform water rescues and administer emergency first aid as required
- Provide swimming and water exercise instruction to participants
- Maintain order and discipline among facility users
- Perform pool maintenance including chemical balancing, vacuuming, cleaning decks, and backwashing filters
- Ensure facility cleanliness by cleaning restrooms, guard rooms, and shower rooms
- Monitor non-swimming participants to ensure they remain in shallow water
Requirements
- High school diploma or GED
- One year of experience as a Lifeguard at an aquatic facility (one year of aquatic teaching or coaching may be substituted)
- Valid driver's license
- Current and valid Lifeguarding Training certificate
- Current and valid Standard First Aid certificate
- Current and valid CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate (or successor courses offered by the American Red Cross)
