Aquatics Specialist

Responsibilities

• Supervise lifeguarding, aquatic, and recreation activities at various facilities to ensure water safety and prevent accidents
• Perform water rescues and administer emergency first aid as required
• Provide swimming and water exercise instruction to participants
• Maintain order and discipline among facility users
• Perform pool maintenance including chemical balancing, vacuuming, cleaning decks, and backwashing filters
• Ensure facility cleanliness by cleaning restrooms, guard rooms, and shower rooms
• Monitor non-swimming participants to ensure they remain in shallow water

Requirements

• High school diploma or GED
• One year of experience as a Lifeguard at an aquatic facility (one year of aquatic teaching or coaching may be substituted)
• Valid driver's license
• Current and valid Lifeguarding Training certificate
• Current and valid Standard First Aid certificate
• Current and valid CPR for the Professional Rescuer certificate (or successor courses offered by the American Red Cross)
