About the role
Responsibilities
- Obtain patient health history and perform physical examinations
- Order and interpret diagnostic tests to diagnose acute and chronic medical problems
- Prescribe and manage medications for adult cardiac patients
- Provide preventive care, secondary prevention, and patient education
- Perform, interpret, and make appropriate changes to cardiac devices including pacemakers, ICDs, and loop recorders
- Safely perform and interpret stress tests and communicate findings for follow-up care
- Coordinate specialty care and discharge management for acute care patients in both hospital and office settings
- Document all care provided accurately in the medical record
Requirements
- Master's degree in Advanced Practice Nursing or 4 years of formal training (for APRNs)
- Completion of an accredited Physician Assistant Certification Program (for PAs)
- At least one year of cardiology provider experience
- Current ACLS certification
- Valid New Hampshire APRN or PA license
- Valid DEA license
