Apprentice Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach classes on behalf of Deans and teacher-leaders
• Provide substitute teaching coverage within the school
• Potentially teach individual classes or small groups of students
• Plan and deliver instruction with increasing responsibility
• Support students through daily one-on-one and small group tutoring
• Observe Master Teachers to improve instructional and management techniques
• Meet regularly with instructional coaches to implement feedback
• Assist teachers with assessments, grading, and classroom responsibilities
• Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards
• Supervise students during transitions, meals, and afterschool activities

Requirements

• Talented individuals with limited or no prior teaching experience
• Ability to participate in annual three-week staff orientation and training
• Commitment to professional development and regular coaching sessions
