Apprentice Teacher

Responsibilities

• Teach classes on behalf of Deans and teacher-leaders
• Provide substitute teaching coverage within the school
• Support students through one-on-one and small group tutoring
• Observe Master Teachers to improve instructional techniques
• Meet regularly with coaches to implement feedback
• Assist teachers with instruction, assessments, and grading
• Implement curricula and activities to meet academic standards
• Supervise students during transitions, meals, and afterschool

Requirements

• Bachelor's degree from a College or University
• Drive to improve the lives of students
• Strong organizational and communication skills
• Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet tight deadlines
• Commitment to the mission of educating urban students
• Willingness to learn, adapt, and be extremely reflective

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience working in schools or urban communities
