Apprentice Optician

Responsibilities

• Drive profitable store sales by fostering a retail selling culture and practicing effective sales skills
• Analyze and interpret prescriptions and lens designs
• Measure pupillary distances and bifocal, trifocal, or progressive placements
• Select and measure frames based on facial contour, eye size, bridge size, and temple length
• Fit and adjust eyewear to the face and eyes
• Dispense contact lenses and ophthalmic eyeglass prescriptions
• Ensure high-quality and timely product manufacturing and fabrication
• Develop professional business relationships with team members and doctors

Requirements

• High School Degree or equivalent
• Actively enrolled in a state-approved Optician Apprentice program
• 2+ years of experience in a retail or customer service position
• Basic computer skills
• Strong attention to detail and ability to work independently
• Enthusiastic and concise communication skills
