Apprentice Optician

Responsibilities

• Deliver the LensCrafters Experience by greeting customers and guiding them through the eyewear selection and fitting process
• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses tailored to their vision, lifestyle, and budget
• Perform technical tasks including taking measurements and adjusting or fitting eyewear accurately
• Educate customers on eyewear protection plans, care tips, and follow-up services
• Operate Point of Sale (POS) terminals to input prescription information and process payments accurately
• Maintain store appearance and ensure visual displays align with company planograms
• Ensure a safe working environment by following proper safety practices and wearing required personal protection equipment

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Enrollment in a sanctioned Apprentice Program
• Strong customer service, communication, and listening skills
• Basic math skills and familiarity with computers and POS systems
• Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise

Preferred Qualifications

• Actively studying for the LensCrafters Quality, Fitting and Adjusting Program
• Previous experience in optical dispensing
• Prior experience in a retail or customer service environment
