Apprentice Optician

Responsibilities

• Deliver the LensCrafters Experience by greeting customers and guiding them through the merchandise selection and fitting process
• Assist customers in selecting frames and lenses tailored to their vision, lifestyle, and budget
• Perform technical tasks including taking measurements, adjusting eyewear, and ensuring finished products meet optical standards
• Educate customers on eyewear protection plans, care tips, and complimentary services
• Operate Point of Sale (POS) terminals accurately to process customer information and payments
• Maintain store appearance and ensure visual displays align with company planograms
• Maintain a safe working environment and follow proper lab safety practices

Requirements

• High school graduate or equivalent
• Participant in a sanctioned Apprentice Program
• Strong customer service, communication, and listening skills
• Basic math skills and familiarity with POS systems, computers, and calculators
• Knowledge of current optical theory and merchandise

Preferred Qualifications

• Actively studying for the LensCrafters Quality, Fitting and Adjusting Program
• Previous experience in optical dispensing
• Prior experience in retail or customer service roles
