Apprentice Electrician

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day activities involved with substation construction
• Work with high voltage equipment including circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and SCADA systems
• Install time-sensitive network and power cabling, including connection and documentation
• Perform preventive equipment maintenance, predictive inspections, and testing
• Develop work scopes, draft procedures, and perform routine repairs
• Work with Journeyman Electricians to install ground grids and erect structural steel
• Comply with all operating and maintenance safe work practices and standards

Requirements

• Indentured into Electrical or PSE trade
• Knowledge of Electrical Utility Code and Occupational Health and Safety rules
• Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to work comfortably at heights
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing
