Apprentice Electrician

Responsibilities

• Assist in day-to-day activities involved with substation construction
• Work with high voltage equipment including circuit breakers, transformers, switches, and SCADA systems
• Install time-sensitive network and power cabling, including connection and documentation
• Perform preventive, predictive, and emergency maintenance on substation equipment
• Develop work scopes, draft procedures, and perform routine repairs
• Assist Journeyperson Electricians with ground grids, power system assembly, and structural steel erection
• Maintain detailed test and maintenance reports

Requirements

• Indentured into Electrical or PSE trade
• Knowledge of Electrical Utility Code (E.U.C Safety Codes Act) and OHS rules
• Valid Provincial Class 5 driver’s license with an acceptable driving record
• Ability to work comfortably at heights
• Ability to pass pre-employment drug and alcohol testing

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience with Microsoft Windows, Office, and computer-based test equipment
