About the role
Responsibilities
- Learn to safely drive, operate, and maintain On-Track Machines (OTMs) under supervision
- Support maintenance, fault-finding, and repair activities through structured training
- Attend all training, competency assessments, and development activities
- Assist in maintaining machine condition, documentation, tooling, and spare parts
- Comply with all company policies regarding Health, Safety, Quality, and Environmental requirements
- Maintain regular contact with the Control Centre to ensure safe movements
- Shadow inspections and servicing to learn OTM availability and reliability
- Travel and lodge flexibly across the rail network to various track worksites
Requirements
- Commitment to achieving full OTM Driver, Operator, and Maintainer status
- Ability to work towards track safety certifications (PTS and Driving Permits)
- Basic IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe)
- Proactive learner with strong self-motivation
- High attention to detail regarding safety rules and rail processes
- Reliable team player capable of managing shift hours and training deadlines
- Ability to travel flexibly across the rail network
