Apprentice Driver Operator Maintainer

Responsibilities

• Learn to safely drive, operate, and maintain On-Track Machines (OTMs) under supervision
• Support maintenance, fault-finding, and repair activities through structured training
• Attend all training, competency assessments, and development activities
• Assist in maintaining machine condition, including documentation, tooling, and spare parts
• Maintain regular contact with the Control Centre to ensure safe movements
• Report accidents, incidents, or faults immediately to protect track safety
• Travel and lodge flexibly across the rail network to various track worksites

Requirements

• Commitment to achieving full OTM Driver, Operator, and Maintainer status
• Willingness to work towards track safety certifications (PTS and Driving Permits)
• Basic IT skills (Outlook, Excel, Word, Adobe)
• Strong attention to detail and adherence to strict safety rules
• Proactive learning attitude and ability to work in a team
• Ability to travel flexibly across the rail network
