Apprentice – Culinary (Kitchen Trainee)

Responsibilities

• Assist chefs with basic food preparation including chopping, cutting, peeling, and marinating
• Support mise-en-place preparation across various kitchen sections such as hot kitchen, cold kitchen, and pastry
• Learn and practice professional cooking techniques under the guidance of senior chefs
• Maintain cleanliness of workstations, utensils, and equipment to ensure high hygiene standards
• Follow food safety guidelines (HACCP) and practice safe handling of knives and kitchen tools
• Assist in buffet setup, live counters, and general kitchen operations during peak hours
• Participate in training sessions and shadow chefs to learn menu planning and workflow

Requirements

• Hotel Management student, recent graduate, or Diploma holder
• Basic knowledge of food preparation
• Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
• Strong teamwork skills, discipline, and a positive attitude
• Commitment to maintaining high hygiene and safety standards

Preferred Qualifications

• Prior experience through a kitchen internship is an advantage
