Applied Scientist

Responsibilities

• Lead research projects to evaluate the health of internal and external components to ensure system safety and efficiency
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams to identify infrastructure and machine learning component improvements
• Conduct deep, unbiased analysis to drive investigations to actual root causes of issues
• Participate in the design, implementation, and evaluation of new algorithms and features in collaboration with Software and Machine Learning Engineers
• Debug and investigate production issues to drive performance improvements and cost reductions

Requirements

• Ph.D. in Computer Science, Mathematics, or a related field (or Master's/Bachelor's with 2+ years of relevant experience)
• 2+ years of experience in research-oriented projects involving machine learning, optimization, statistics, or large-scale data analysis
• Experience contributing to research or modeling projects in collaboration with engineering teams
• Proficient verbal and written English communication skills
• Ability to learn new technical skills across engineering, machine learning, and data science
• For Senior roles: 4+ years of experience or a Ph.D. with 2+ years of experience, including experience leading research projects
