Applied Scientist III - Recommendation System

Responsibilities

• Architect and implement end-to-end solutions for accelerating experimentation and model building
• Create microservices and APIs for serving ML models and ML services
• Design and implement potential products and proof-of-concepts
• Work closely with engineering, product, and newsroom teams to define and deploy new ML/AI products
• Explore and onboard new platforms, technologies, and algorithms
• Manage project priorities, deadlines, and deliverables

Requirements

• Bachelor’s, Master’s, or PhD in Computer Science, Mathematics, Statistics, or other analytical fields
• Hands-on experience and strong theoretical understanding of Recommender Systems
• Experience working with Python, Golang, Spark, or other open-source software with data science libraries
• Strong experience in advanced math and statistics
• Demonstrated ability to own end-to-end project delivery

Preferred Qualifications

• Five+ years of experience in an ML Engineering role with a proven track record of delivering high-impact solutions
• Excellence in technical documentation and project leadership
• Experience in a data science or research-oriented position
