Applied Scientist - Forecasting

Responsibilities

• Design, develop and deploy machine learning models for demand forecasting in production environments
• Improve forecasting accuracy, robustness, scalability and explainability
• Develop forecasting solutions for replenishment, pricing and supply chain optimisation
• Design and analyse offline and online evaluations to measure model performance
• Collaborate with engineers to productionise models and build scalable ML systems
• Explore and evaluate new modelling approaches from industry and academia
• Contribute to scientific direction through technical discussions and code reviews

Requirements

• Experience developing and deploying machine learning models in production
• Proficiency in Python and modern ML frameworks like PyTorch or TensorFlow
• Experience with time series forecasting, probabilistic forecasting, or deep learning
• Knowledge of gradient boosting, causal inference, or optimisation
• Experience working with large datasets and distributed data processing systems
• Strong software engineering practices including testing and version control
• Ability to communicate technical concepts to diverse audiences
