Applied Scientist AI/ML

Responsibilities

• Design and deploy architectural improvements to deep neural network (DNN)-based home valuation models
• Build interpretable ML models to explain pricing decisions to customers
• Incorporate unstructured data, such as images, videos, or text, into forecasting and valuation pipelines using LLMs and VLMs
• Collaborate with Engineering and Operations teams to enhance human-in-the-loop pricing systems
• Improve feature engineering and model training pipelines for production systems
• Develop and rethink risk and optimization models using real-world data and domain insights

Requirements

• Advanced degree (MS or PhD) in computer science, statistics, mathematics, or a related quantitative field
• Strong software engineering and coding skills in Python, including experience with production codebases
• Experience developing and deploying ML models end-to-end from research to production
• Hands-on experience with deep learning architectures (e.g., ConvNets, Transformers)
• Solid foundation in statistics and experimental design
• Strong communication skills with the ability to collaborate with cross-functional stakeholders

Preferred Qualifications

• Familiarity with PySpark and distributed data processing
• Background in search, recommendation systems, or personalization
• Experience working with Large Language Models (LLMs) or Vision-Language Models (VLMs)
• A genuine interest in real estate and housing data
