Applied Responsible AI Lead

Responsibilities

• Support the design, operationalization, and continuous improvement of the bank's Responsible AI framework for both machine learning and generative AI solutions.
• Translate Responsible AI principles and regulatory expectations (including SR 11-7) into practical requirements for technical and business teams.
• Partner with business and technology teams from early intake through deployment to identify risks and recommend proportionate mitigations.
• Perform risk assessments and effective challenge for internally developed and third-party AI solutions, including GenAI and RAG applications.
• Define fit-for-purpose evaluation and monitoring approaches covering model performance, explainability, fairness, and robustness.
• Collaborate with Model Risk Management, Compliance, Legal, and Information Security to align AI governance with broader enterprise risk frameworks.
• Identify opportunities to automate AI intake, control mapping, and ongoing monitoring activities.

Requirements

• Bachelor's Degree and 6 years of experience in Data management, IT, financial services, or enterprise risk management, OR High School Diploma and 10 years of experience in these fields.
• Proven experience with Responsible AI, AI risk management, model governance, or model validation.
• Deep knowledge of machine learning and generative AI lifecycle risks.
• Ability to interpret and operationalize regulatory guidance such as SR 11-7.

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience in a model validation, independent review, or first-line AI governance role within a regulated environment.
• Demonstrated ability to develop and implement generative AI evaluations and metrics (e.g., groundedness, faithfulness, and content safety).
• Experience using or evaluating generative AI observability tooling such as Galileo or Fiddler AI.
• Strong stakeholder management and influencing skills within a complex organization.
