Applied Research Scientist

Responsibilities

• Train, test, and ship models that power Peec AI's recommendations
• Develop algorithms to extract insights from consumer search behavior and predict emerging topics
• Partner with engineering to bring models into production
• Leverage data pipelines and infrastructure to run experiments and validate research at scale
• Support work on autonomous agentic systems for information collection and structuring
• Work with web-scale data including crawlers, clickstream data, and large-scale internet signals

Requirements

• Strong statistical and quantitative foundations (statistical modeling, hypothesis testing, causal inference, or Bayesian methods)
• Deep curiosity about LLM mechanics and AI search behavior
• Track record of taking projects from research to production
• Familiarity with NLP techniques such as ranking models, text classification, embeddings, or information retrieval
• Excellent communication skills for explaining complex technical concepts
• Deep interest in online consumer behavior

Preferred Qualifications

• Contributions to open-source projects
• Deployed side or hobby projects
• Presented research papers at top ML or AI conferences
• Experience in high-growth startups or as a founder
• Fluency in TypeScript
