Applied AI/ML Manager of Software Engineering

Responsibilities

• Lead a dynamic AI/ML engineering team to develop state-of-the-art machine learning models for tasks such as NLP, speech recognition, and recommendation systems.
• Innovate and extend ML strategies to solve complex banking problems.
• Provide daily guidance, technical direction, and expectation setting for a team of software engineers.
• Collaborate with cross-functional partners including Product Management, Legal, Compliance, and Strategy to deploy production-ready solutions.
• Manage day-to-day implementation activities, identifying and escalating technical issues as needed.
• Anticipate dependencies with other technology teams to ensure timely delivery of business requirements.

Requirements

• 5+ years of applied Machine Learning experience and hands-on industry experience.
• Formal training or certification in Software Engineering concepts.
• Deep understanding of NLP advancements, including transformer architecture and knowledge distillation.
• Experience with classical ML techniques such as classification, clustering, optimization, and feature extraction.
• Proven experience leading technology projects and managing technologists.
• Proficiency in the full Software Development Life Cycle (SDLC) and Agile methodologies (CI/CD, Application Resiliency, and Security).
• Strong scientific thinking skills and the ability to work both independently and collaboratively.

Preferred Qualifications

• Hands-on experience with virtual assistant model development and optimization.
• Familiarity with continuous integration models and unit test development.
• Experience with A/B experimentation and data/metric-driven product development.
