Applied AI Strategist, New Ventures

Responsibilities

• Run client engagements end-to-end, owning the relationship, execution plan, and business outcomes.
• Decompose vague client mandates into sequenced, actionable initiatives with clear milestones and success metrics.
• Independently design, prototype, and ship AI agent workflows, automations, and AI-powered tools.
• Manage organizational change by building trust with executives and operators during AI transformations.
• Document industry-specific learnings to inform Valon's long-term product strategy.
• Help define the operating model, engagement playbook, and hiring criteria for this new founding team.

Requirements

• Proven experience leading complex, ambiguous initiatives from unclear problems to shipped results.
• Hands-on experience building with AI, including designing agent workflows and automations.
• Fluency in LLM orchestration, API proficiency, and current LLM capabilities/limitations.
• Strong structured thinking skills with the ability to operate effectively in chaotic environments.
• Ability to command trust and speak with authority in rooms filled with senior executives and operators.
• Willingness to work in a forward-deployed model, being embedded onsite at client sites for extended periods.

Preferred Qualifications

• Background as a forward-deployed engineer or deployment strategist (e.g., Palantir, Anduril, Scale AI).
• Experience as a technical founder or early operator at a B2B startup.
• Experience as a PM at an AI-native company shipping customer-facing AI products.
• Background in digital/AI consulting combined with independent AI building.
