Applied AI Research Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and ship AI-backed features that are reliable in production
• Define quality bars by designing eval rubrics, test plans, and rollout criteria
• Write and extend production code, set up monitoring, and implement tests
• Own features end-to-end from problem framing to modeling and system design
• Debug failures across the stack including data, infra, model, and prompt logic
• Design and implement retrieval pipelines, agents, or hybrid patterns
• Collaborate with product, infra, and engineering teams to ship features

Requirements

• Experience building and shipping AI systems in production
• Strong research instincts and ability to design real-world evaluations
• Solid engineering skills with clean, testable Python code
• Deep understanding of LLMs, including prompting, fine-tuning, and evaluation
• Systems mindset covering interfaces, data contracts, and failure modes
• Practical bias toward shipping reliable software
• Strong ownership and communication skills
