Applied AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Architect the internal AI platform, creating reusable primitives such as evaluation harnesses, MCP servers, and tool libraries.
• Partner with Development, Finance, and Operations teams to translate ambiguous business problems into well-scoped agent specifications.
• Prototype and build agentic workflows using LLM-powered agents that reason, plan, and act across company tools and data.
• Define and apply rigorous evaluation and quality standards to measure agentic precision, operational safety, and latency.
• Instrument agents with monitoring and cost/latency budgets to ensure production-grade reliability and security.
• Stay current with the fast-moving AI landscape to run experiments and share best practices with the team.

Requirements

• 5+ years of experience in architecting and deploying production-grade software using Python or TypeScript.
• Hands-on experience engineering autonomous agents using patterns like ReAct or Plan-and-Execute.
• Proven experience building production applications using LLM APIs (e.g., Claude, OpenAI).
• Deep technical proficiency with RAG implementations, vector databases, and orchestration frameworks like LangGraph or CrewAI.
• Strong understanding of security risks specific to agentic and LLM-based systems.
• Proficiency with Git workflows and Agile development practices.

Preferred Qualifications

• Ability to work closely with Product teams to scope, prioritize, and independently deliver features.
• Experience mentoring junior engineers or contributing to high-level architectural design discussions.
• Practical experience customizing or retraining models using machine learning frameworks such as TensorFlow, PyTorch, or scikit-learn.
