Applied AI Engineer

Responsibilities

• Design, build, and deploy AI-powered features from the ground up
• Develop and optimize applied AI systems, including model selection, fine-tuning, and evaluation pipelines
• Integrate AI capabilities into production environments ensuring reliability and scalability
• Collaborate across engineering and product teams to deliver new customer experiences
• Continuously evaluate model performance and improve results based on data and user feedback
• Establish AI engineering best practices

Requirements

• Experience as a software engineer or machine learning engineer focused on applied AI
• Proven experience developing and deploying production-grade AI systems using LLMs or foundation models
• Experience with prompt engineering, fine-tuning, or evaluation techniques for LLMs
• Proficiency with APIs, data pipelines, and cloud environments (AWS, GCP, or similar)
• Degree in Computer Science or a related technical field
• Strong communication skills and ability to thrive in a fast-paced startup environment

Preferred Qualifications

• Experience building AI-native applications using LLMs in production
• Familiarity with Go, gRPC, React, TypeScript, Kubernetes, AWS, and Terraform
• Early-stage startup experience or zero-to-one product development track record
• Experience with RAG, vector databases, or orchestration frameworks
